The aim is to encourage youth, academics, and all societal actors to develop ethical, sustainable, and innovative AI solutions. The design, continuous updating, and coordination of the project process are under the responsibility of Prof. Dr. Hayal K\u00f6ksal. The project management is carried out by the \u201cAssociation for Innovative Collaboration (Y\u0130MEDER)\u201d and the \u201cWorld Council for Total Quality and Excellence in Education (WCTQEE)\u2014T\u00fcrkiye General Directorate\u201d.<\/p>\n<h2>Purpose<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>To raise social awareness by addressing the benefits and potential risks of artificial intelligence.<br \/>\n\u2022 To develop innovative and feasible projects through interdisciplinary collaboration (=\u0130mece).<br \/>\n\u2022 To integrate principles of sustainability, equality, and ethics into all processes.<br \/>\n\u2022 To teach youth and community members team-oriented problem-solving methods and the use of scientific quality tools, using the \u201c\u0130mece Circles\u201d method, which won the World Bank Award in the 2005 Turkey Creative Development Ideas Competition. More than five thousand projects have been managed with this method so far.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Target Audience Categories<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>K\u201312 students and teachers, including <u>all pre-school organizations<\/u> (ICT Seagulls)<br \/>\n\u2022 Associate, undergraduate, and graduate university students (Leading Seagulls)<br \/>\n\u2022 Young professionals, local entrepreneurs, experienced businesspeople, NGO representatives, and local governments (Community Seagulls)<br \/>\n<em>(Participation of individuals with disabilities is encouraged in all categories. To realize this aim, Disability NGOs are most welcome.)<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>*Leading Seagulls \u2192 Re-designed for Universities.<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Objective:<\/strong> To encourage students from all university faculties to collaborate creatively and scientifically to develop solutions to current global issues such as artificial intelligence and sustainable living. Projects are conducted within the 23-year-long collective action culture (Imece) of ICT Seagulls and the PDCA Mindset (Plan\u2013Do\u2013Check\u2013Act), a quality cycle approach.<\/p>\n<h3>Participants and Team Structure of Leader Seagull Projects:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong> Faculties:<\/strong><br \/>\no <u>Faculties of Education<\/u> (especially teacher candidates and educational technology departments)<br \/>\no <u>Faculties of Engineering and Technology<\/u> (Computer, Electrical-Electronics, Food, Mechatronics, Environmental Engineering, etc.)<br \/>\no <u>Faculties of Architecture and Design<\/u> (Sustainable Architecture, Industrial Design, Landscape Architecture)<br \/>\no <u>Faculties of Science and Letters and Social Sciences <\/u>(Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Psychology, Sociology, History, Literature, Archaeology, Philosophy)<br \/>\no <u>Faculties of Economics and Administrative Sciences<\/u> (Governance, Social Entrepreneurship, Leadership, etc.)<br \/>\no <u>Faculties of Health Sciences<\/u> (Public Health, Hygiene, Disability Studies, Elderly Care)<br \/>\no <u>Faculties of Fine Arts<\/u> (Awareness through Art, Social Innovation Spaces)<br \/>\no <u>Other faculties and disciplines (Law, Communication, Sports Sciences, etc.)<\/u><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Main Theme: *<\/h2>\n<p>Artificial Intelligence\u2014Benefits, Risks, Ethics, and Use for Good.<\/p>\n<p>*\u00e0 <strong>Teams\/Circles<\/strong><strong>:<\/strong> 5\u201310 students, 1\u20132 academic advisors, preferably an external stakeholder (NGO representative, local administrator, artist, or engineer). Multidisciplinary teams between faculties are encouraged.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Suggested Sub-Themes by Category:<\/h3>\n<p>The list below presents the recommended sub-themes for different disciplines and projects.<\/p>\n<p><u>Education and Learning:<br \/>\n<\/u>\u2022 AI-supported teaching methods, learning analytics, and personalized education.<br \/>\n\u2022 AI applications are strengthening critical thinking and creativity against rote learning.<br \/>\n\u2022 Equal opportunities and accessibility in education (AI for students with disabilities or in rural areas).<br \/>\nExample: Faculties of Education, \u201cAI-Supported Teaching and Ethical Boundaries\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><u>Environment and Sustainability:<br \/>\n<\/u>\u2022 AI for combating climate change (energy optimization, waste management).<br \/>\n\u2022 Ecological data analysis, biodiversity conservation, and disaster early-warning systems.<br \/>\n\u2022 Green technology and AI solutions for \u201cSmart Villages\/Cities\u201d.<br \/>\nExample: Engineering\u2013Architecture Faculties: \u201cEco-Friendly AI Applications\u201d, \u201cSmart and Sustainable Living Spaces\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><u>Health and Human Well-Being:<br \/>\n<\/u>\u2022 Ethical AI use in early diagnosis, telemedicine, and public health.<br \/>\n\u2022 Supportive technologies for the elderly and disabled.<br \/>\n\u2022 AI-based drug development and genomic research risk\/benefit analysis.<br \/>\nExample: Medical and Health Sciences\u00e0 \u00a0\u201cEarly Diagnosis and Health Equity through AI\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><u>Social Impact and Human Rights:<\/u><br \/>\n\u2022 Bias, discrimination, and justice issues in AI.<br \/>\n\u2022 Privacy, data security, and protection of personal rights.<br \/>\n\u2022 The impact of AI on labor, employment, and social justice.<br \/>\nExample: Social Sciences, Law: \u201cAI and Rights\/Justice in Society\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><u>Art, Culture, and Creativity:<\/u><br \/>\n\u2022 The role of AI in artistic production (music, painting, literature) and copyright issues.<br \/>\n\u2022 Digital preservation of cultural heritage and augmented reality projects.<br \/>\n\u2022 AI-assisted storytelling and intercultural dialogue.<br \/>\nExample: Fine Arts, Communication, History:\u00a0 \u201cRaising Awareness through Art and AI\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><u>Science and Future Visions\/Futurism:<\/u><br \/>\n\u2022 The future of AI in quantum computing, robotics, and space exploration.<br \/>\n\u2022 Limits of AI and human intelligence: Collaboration or competition?<br \/>\n\u2022 Long-term ethical compliance strategies for societies and AI.<br \/>\nExample: Computer Engineering, Space Sciences, Physics, Philosophy, Sociology: \u201cHumans and Ethics in the 22nd Century\u201d, \u201cKey Issues in a Robotic World\u201d.<\/p>\n<h2>Project Process and Steps<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li><u> Registration and Initial Training (3 Months: Nov\u2013Dec 2025 and Jan 2026)<br \/>\n<\/u> o Teams are formed and they register; initial training dates and locations are set with Coordinator Prof. Hayal K\u00f6ksal.<br \/>\no Training on the history of Informatics Seagulls, sustainable living principles, and project management (delivered by H. K\u00f6ksal via Zoom or in person).<\/p>\n<p><u>2. Planning and Data Collection (2 Months: Jan\u2013Feb 2026)<\/u><br \/>\no Teams perform problem analysis and literature reviews. Planning marks the first step of the PDCA cycle using quality tools.<br \/>\no Continuous communication with the coordinator ensures guided project development.<\/p>\n<p><u>3. Project Development (3 Months: Mar\u2013May 2026)<\/u><br \/>\no Teams complete the remaining three steps of the PDCA cycle: Do, Check, and Act, using quality tools.<\/p>\n<p><u>4. Mentorship and Support (Optional, ongoing throughout the process):<br \/>\n<\/u>\u00a0\u00a0 o Academics, engineers, artists, and NGOs provide mentorship.<\/p>\n<p><u>5. Presentation Sharing (1 Month: June 2026)<br \/>\n<\/u>\u00a0\u00a0 o Projects are presented in PPT format along with a short film, website, or blog.<br \/>\no Projects are exhibited and evaluated by jury members.<\/p>\n<p><u>6. Evaluation (2 Months: July\u2013Aug 2026)<\/u><br \/>\no <em>50% Peer Evaluation<\/em> (by other teams).<br \/>\no <em>50% Jury Evaluation<\/em> (international jury).<\/p>\n<p><u>7.
