Press Release OF 22. ICT SEAGULLS PROJECTS

September 29, 2025 / ictseagull / Announcement, ICT Project, Press Release

22nd INTERNATIONAL ICT SEAGULLS PROJECT PRESS RELEASE

The 22nd year of the International ICT and Leadership Seagulls Projects has been completed, along with the evaluation process. Three high school teams from India registered in the “ICT Seagulls” category, while three teams from Istanbul Kent University registered in the “Leadership Seagulls” category. This year’s theme was Artificial Intelligence. Two teams from each category were unable to complete their projects, while four teams successfully finalized their work and presented their outcomes. The winners have now been announced.

From Gurugram, Haryana, India, the “Ambitious Allies” team from “Blue Bells Model School”, led by Dr. Madhu Gupta and student Livesh Bhutani, embarked on a journey to explore the ethical implications of Artificial Intelligence with their project “Artificial Intelligence and Ethics.” Scoring 83 points in peer and jury evaluation, they were awarded the “High School Level AI Champion Project Award.” Additionally, they received the “Prof. Dr. Erol İnelmen Jury Special Award”. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Principal Alka Singh and the students for their remarkable dedication and success, marking their fourth participation in our project.

Also from the same region, “Brahms Dutt Blue Bells Public School” participated for the first time under the leadership of teacher Ms. Shikha Taneja and 12th-grade student Charvi Luthra. Their project, “AI: Not the Master of the Mind, but its Creation – How Can We Use Technology and AI Effectively and Ethically?” received 68 points in evaluation, earning them the “Most Enthusiastic and Determined Team Award.” We wish them continued success and excellence in the coming years.

The Vocational School of Istanbul Kent University students were able to join the project in May. Therefore, their teams were only responsible for the “Planning” stage of the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) cycle this year, and they will continue with the subsequent phases in the upcoming project year. Of the three registered teams, one could not continue due to time management issues. Among the remaining teams, the “Cyber Security Technologies” team led by Ziya Kunkoğlu planned a project entitled “Creating a Safe Digital Guide Against Cyber Fraud for Older Generations.” With 82 points in peer and jury evaluation, they received the “Best Planned AI Project for Senior Safety Award” along with the “Prof. Dr. Ümit Serdaroğlu Jury Special Award.” Project Link: https://team-cyberpaw.lovable.app/

Another team, led by Serenay Çetin from the same department, began planning a critical project entitled “Digital Bullying – Cyber Security Vulnerabilities” targeting students. Their collaborative efforts earned them the “Most Collaborative Team Award.” Both projects were guided by faculty advisor Mr. Aytek Gücüyener. We also extend our sincere gratitude to Prof. Dr. Syed Ali and Prof. Dr. Metin Toprak for serving as jury members. Project Link: https://sites.google.com/view/silent-byte/ana-sayfa

For the first time this year, by dividing the PDCA cycle into two stages, we believe we have pioneered a new approach to project management focusing on “Time Management.” The two university teams will continue with the “Do, Check, and Act” phases in the coming year. The 2025 project theme will once again be Artificial Intelligence, but with an expanded scope including all university faculties as well as the preschool level.

With kind regards, Prof. Dr. Hayal Köksal
